In the heart of the bush, our luxury private safari reserve offers thoughtfully designed package deals that combine unforgettable wildlife experiences, fine dining, and elegant accommodation.

Mapesu Trail Safari Package:

Explore each of our camps with a six-day slackpacking experience across the reserve.

Day 1: Arrive and settle in at Lucca Lodge, followed by dinner on the deck. No afternoon activity is scheduled, but a safety briefing will be provided.

Day 2: Depart from Lucca Lodge and enjoy a full day walk to Wilderness Camp, covering approximately 10 km. Lunch will be served in the bush, followed by dinner at Wilderness Camp.

Day 3: Walk from Wilderness Camp to Mopane Bush Lodge, approximately 6 km. Enjoy lunch at the lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive or time to relax.

Day 4: Leave Mopane Bush Lodge and walk to Altenburg, with lunch served in the bush and dinner at the trail camp.

Day 5: Return to Lucca Lodge by game viewer for a final day of relaxation, with the option of a game drive.

Day 6: Enjoy a morning EWT experience before departure.

Our Rhino Guardian Experience provides an engaging and practical way to get involved in rhino conservation.

Each activity is designed to offer a unique perspective on the challenges of protecting these magnificent creatures, while also allowing you to create lasting memories. Here’s what you can look forward to:

Rhino Monitoring: Assist in observing and documenting the behaviour, movements, and health of our rhinos.
Foot and Vehicle Patrols: Join our dedicated team on patrols to ensure the safety of the rhino.
Telemetry: Learn how to use advanced equipment to track rhino locations and movements.
Tracking: Hone your skills in following animal tracks and signs in the wild.
Tactical Bush Lane Target Shooting (optional): Experience the techniques used in anti-poaching efforts with professional guidance.
Survival Techniques: Gain essential skills for thriving in the bush, including fire-starting and navigation.
Stargazing: Enjoy breathtaking night skies while learning about the stars in the African wilderness.
Wildlife Conservation: Explore the efforts needed to protect ecosystems and wildlife beyond the rhino.

Mapungubwe Explorer Package (excluding SANParks conservation levy)

3 nights’ accommodation at Mopane Bush Lodge, visiting Mapungubwe National Park.

Enjoy a Mapesu game drive on the afternoon of arrival, followed by a full-day exploration of the western section and the 4×4 Hidden Mapungubwe route with a packed lunch. The package also includes a morning heritage and museum tour, afternoon sundowners at the confluence, a morning EWT experience on Mapesu, and three dining experiences: one boma dinner, one restaurant dinner, and one lawn dinner.
