Our tranquil campsites are nestled amidst a picturesque landscape of cork trees, baobabs, mopanes trees and seringas which is roughly 6 km’s from Mopane Bush Lodge. Located near a natural waterhole it is a haven for wildlife, attracting animals from nearby ridges, including the Big 5.
Mapesu camp Site
Our camp sites are equipped with 3 ablution blocks each equipped with 4 toilets
& 4 showers providing hot water and each campsite provides 15amp, 220-volt of
electricity supply per PowerPoint. Please note that our campsites do not have
backup power and occasional load shedding may occur.
Additionally, there is internet access available with the Wi-Fi network ‘Camp site’.
Firewood and ice are available for purchase at Mopane Bush Lodge. There is also
a restaurant and bar at the Lodge where you are more than welcome to join for
meals and drinks, you can use the pool area as well.
You are welcome to use the lounge and the pool at Mapesu Wilderness Camp,
located just up the hill (500 meters driving).
Self-drives around the reserve are prohibited.
Please Note: The campsite is unfenced and does not have a perimeter fence.
To emerge yourself in these surroundings while staying safe, we ask you to take the mentioned precautionary measures:
- For your safety and the preservation of the natural habitat, please maintain a respectful distance from wildlife. By allowing them space, they will reciprocate by not approaching you. Please try and refrain from running if ever you encounter wildlife.
- Please stay on the campsites & pathways at night, don’t go wandering in the bush.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- Ensure there are no openings to your tent or camper at night. While
animals typically aren’t interested in tents, it’s best not to invite curiosity by creating new, unexplored openings. - Please do not feed the animals, this is to ensure they remain wild and
maintain their natural behaviors. - Do not litter or leave bones and food scraps around the campsite,
as this can attract animals during the night. Help preserve our reserve and ensure your own safety by using the provided trash bins.
